Date: 2025-04-11

The Tamang Doctors' Society Nepal has successfully raised a total of NPR 1,53,077 to aid in the treatment of Batuli Tamang, a 45-year-old resident of Shivapuri-04, Nuwakot. Batuli Tamang, the mother of Rajan Tamang—a fifth-year MBBS student at the Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS)—has been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) and is currently undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital in India.

This heartfelt initiative witnessed contributions from a wide range of generous donors, including individuals, doctors, and medical students from both Nepal and abroad. The total collected amount was formally handed over to Mr. Rajan Shyangden, who represented the family, on Chaitra 28, 2081.

The Tamang Doctors' Society Nepal extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed, highlighting the importance of community and solidarity in times of need. A special mention goes to Dr. Smriti Lama for her exceptional contribution of NPR 48,020. The Society also acknowledges other notable donors such as Sartha Tamang from the USA (NPR 13,588), Sabina Tamang from Australia (NPR 10,000), Dr. Kunsang Lama (NPR 10,044), as well as Dr. Nirajan Tamang (President) and Dr. Muna Gurung (Editor-in-Chief) for their leadership and commitment in initiating this support campaign.

Every donation, no matter the size, has played a vital role in easing the family’s burden, and the Society is sincerely thankful to all contributors. A special note of appreciation is once again extended to Dr. Smriti Lama for her unwavering dedication and compassionate support.

On behalf of the entire family, the Tamang Doctors' Society Nepal wishes Batuli Tamang a swift and complete recovery.
