In response to the devastating floods that struck Melamchi, Sindhupalchowk, Tamang Doctors Society Nepal (TDSN) organized a one-day free health camp on 3rd July 2021 to support the affected communities. The camp was aimed at providing urgent medical care and essential health services to individuals displaced and impacted by the natural disaster. Over 500 people, including elderly citizens, women, and children, received direct medical attention during the camp.
A dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers from TDSN worked on the ground to address immediate health concerns such as water-borne diseases, skin infections, minor injuries, respiratory issues, and trauma-related conditions. Mental health support was also offered, considering the emotional stress and anxiety faced by flood victims. Alongside treatment, free medicines were distributed, and the public was educated on hygiene, safe drinking water practices, and preventive healthcare measures to minimize the risk of disease outbreaks in the aftermath of the flood.
This health camp was a vital part of TDSN’s ongoing mission to serve vulnerable communities during times of crisis. By reaching out to disaster-hit areas with timely and compassionate care, the Society reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service. TDSN extends heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, local partners, and supporters who helped make the Melamchi health camp possible and pledges to continue supporting communities in need across Nepal.
