Free Health Camp Organized at Magyang Gaunpalika Ward 5 & 6, Nuwakot

Date: 2025-06-07

Tamang Doctors Society Nepal successfully organized a one-day free health camp at Ward No. 5 and 6 of Magyang Gaunpalika, Nuwakot, with the aim of delivering essential medical services to remote and underserved communities. This rural area, like many others across the country, suffers from limited access to basic healthcare, making such initiatives vital for the well-being of local residents. The health camp was part of the Society’s broader mission to improve health equity and access in rural Tamang settlements.

A team of dedicated doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and volunteers participated in the event, offering a wide range of medical services including general check-ups, health consultations, and the distribution of free medicines. Special attention was given to maternal and child health, elderly care, and the screening and management of chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Many patients received their first-ever formal medical consultation during the camp, underscoring the critical role of such outreach programs.

In addition to medical services, the team also provided health education and counseling to raise awareness about hygiene, nutrition, family planning, and the importance of regular check-ups. Local people were encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyles and to seek early medical intervention when symptoms arise. These educational components are essential in empowering communities to take charge of their health in the long term.

The camp served over 800 patients in a single day, a remarkable turnout that reflected both the need and the trust the community places in the Tamang Doctors Society Nepal. Patients came not only from Wards 5 and 6 but also from surrounding areas, walking long distances to benefit from the services. The event was managed smoothly with the support of local leaders, community volunteers, and logistical partners, ensuring that all patients were attended to with care and efficiency.

Tamang Doctors Society Nepal extends its heartfelt gratitude to the local authorities, volunteers, and community members of Magyang Gaunpalika for their warm hospitality and active cooperation. Their support was instrumental in making the event successful and impactful. The Society remains committed to continuing such health camps in other underserved regions, as part of its ongoing effort to promote health and well-being across rural Nepal.
